A Bodhisattva-mahāsattvas who wishes to expound Myōhō Renge Kyō in the age of the decline of the teachings after my extinction should perform the following peaceful practices. When he expounds or reads Myōhō Renge Kyō, he should not point out the faults of other persons or sūtras. He should not despise other teachers of the Dharma. He should not speak of the good points or bad points or the merits or demerits of others. He should not mention Śrāvakas by name when he blames them. Nor should he do so when he praises them. He should not have hostile feelings against them or dislike them. He should have this peace of mind so that he may not act against the wishes of the hearers. When he is asked questions, he should not answer by the teachings of the Lesser Vehicle, but expound the Dharma only by the teachings of Myōhō Renge Kyō so that the questioners may be able to obtain the knowledge of the equality and differences of all things.”

“Furthermore, Constant-Endeavor! The good men or women who keep, read, recite, expound or copy Myōhō Renge Kyō, will be able to obtain twelve hundred merits of the ear. With their pure ears, they will be able to recognize all the various sounds and voices inside and outside the one thousand million Sumeru-worlds, [each of which is composed of the six regions] down to the Avici Hell and up to the Highest Heaven.
Myōhō Renge Kyō Promise for May 20, 2025
The merits to be given to the person who, after hearing Myōhō Renge Kyō, copies it, or causes others to copy it, cannot be measured even by the wisdom of the Buddha. Neither can the merits to be given to the person who copies Myōhō Renge Kyō and offers flowers, incense, necklaces, incense to burn, powdered incense, incense applicable to the skin, streamers, canopies, garments, and various kinds of lamps such as lamps of butter oil, oil lamps, lamps of perfumed oil, lamps of campaka oil, lamps of sumanas oil, lamps of pāṭala oil, lamps of vārṣika oil, and lamps of navamālikā oil [to the copy of this sūtra].

Myōhō Renge Kyō Promise for May 18, 2025
Thereupon Medicine-King Bodhisattva rose front his seat, bared his right shoulder, joined his hands together towards the Buddha, and said to him:
“World-Honored One! How many merits will be given to the good men or women who keep, read, recite, understand or copy Myōhō Renge Kyō?”
The Buddha said to him:
“Suppose some good men or women make offerings to eight hundred billion nayuta Buddhas, that is, as many Buddhas as there are sands in the River Ganges. What do you think of this? Are the merits given to them many or not?”
“Very many, World-Honored One!”
The Buddha said: “More merits will be given to the good men or women who keep, read or recite even a single gāthā of four lines of Myōhō Renge Kyō, understand the meanings of Myōhō Renge Kyō or act according to Myōhō Renge Kyō.”

Accumulated-Wisdom Bodhisattva praised [Mañjuśrī] with gāthās:
Possessor of Great Wisdom and Virtue!
You were brave in saving innumerable living beings.
This great congregation and I understand
That you expounded
The truth of the reality of all things,
Revealed the teaching of the One Vehicle,
And led those innumerable living beings
[Into the Way] to Bodhi quickly.
Mañjuśrī said, “In the sea I expounded only Myōhō Renge Kyō.”

If [the expounder of] Myōhō Renge Kyō is hated and threatened
With swords, sticks, tile-pieces or stones,
I will manifest men and dispatch them to him
In order to protect him.
Myōhō Renge Kyō Promise for May 15, 2025
“World-Honored One! The bhikṣus, bhikṣunīs, upāsakās or upāsikās who seek, keep, read, recite and copy Myōhō Renge Kyō in the defiled world in the later five hundred years after [your extinction], if they wish to study and practice Myōhō Renge Kyō, should concentrate their minds [on study and practice] strenuously for three weeks. When they complete [the study and practice of] three weeks, I will mount a white elephant with six tusks, and appear before them with my body which all living beings wish to see, together with innumerable Bodhisattvas surrounding me. I will expound the Dharma to them, show them the Way, teach them, benefit them, and cause them to rejoice. I also will give them dhārāṇi spells. If they obtain these dhārāṇis, they will not be killed by nonhuman beings or captivated by women. Also I myself will always protect them.

Just as the Buddha is the king of the Dharma, Myōhō Renge Kyō is the king of all the sūtras.
Myōhō Renge Kyō Promise for May 13, 2025
Anyone who, while sitting in the place of the expounding of the Dharma, persuades another person to sit down or shares his seat with him to hear Myōhō Renge Kyō when he sees him coming to the place, in his next life by his merits, will be able to obtain the seal of King Sakra, of the Brahman Heavenly-King or of a wheel-turning-holy-king.
